Apparently, there is a police scanner audio that pretty much says the cops lit the cabin on fire on purpose, as opposed to the media's reporting that it is unclear how the fire started (that it might be an accident from smoke grenades).

So, I go on reddit today and I see pages and pages of people pissed off at how the LAPD handled the incident in the cabin, including people thinking that Dorner was set up.

I am a very liberal guy and I believe in due process.  But if there ever was a case to use deadly force, this is it.  I have no issue with the cops blowing up the whole cabin, if they wanted, once the suspect refused to comply.  But even with setting a fire, you have the ability to just walk outside and give yourself up and get your due process.

To see so many people coming to the defense of a man actively trying to murder people disgusts me.

I agree.  This guy was a major threat to the lives of anyone nearby and could not be allowed to run loose one minute longer.

I hope the taxpayers don't get the boot on this one when the inevitable wrongful death suit elicits.

I don't see any scenario where he would have lived. Cops aren't to fond of cop killers and they were going to take this bastard down by any means possible. To be honest I don't care either way in the end he got what he deserved.

It is Really despicable that some people are actually defending this guy and saying they agree with him just in the name of the 2nd amendment rights. What about the rights of the people that he was killing? This gun debate has pushed people so far on opposite sides of the argument that it is affecting peoples common sense judgment and morality.

Very very small but vocal minority is coming to his defense.  Not worth getting worked up over.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post. I don't see how the 2nd amendment has to do with anyone supporting Dorner. Quite the contrary,  I don't think that many 2nd amendment supporters would defend Dorner in any way. From what I have read, Dorner was a supporter of stricter gun control and an Obama supporter. As far as the 2A crowd goes, we usually swing the other way.

There were people sending tweets supporting Dorner, facebook fan pages and the like....and I saw a tweet saying he supported Dorner and his 2nd amendment right to bear arms. That's what I'm referring to....those people are just not right in the head.

I didn't really hear anything that related to 2nd amendment stuff, though I don't doubt it.  Those coming to his defense were critical of the police's overreach (which I actually agree with, in terms of shooting up the car of those two old women).  But when it comes to lighting the cabin on fire meaning that you're taking away his due process, I call bullshit.  If you don't want to die in the fire, walk outside and get your day in court.

What is bullshit is the LA mayor's office is considering backing out on the reward they offered simply because the statement said it was for information leading to his capture. Everyone know this guy was never going to be "Captured". That is bullshit.

You kill a cop, you'll be lucky if you are captured.

^ I don't like that.  I think that killing a cop should ideally be treated like killing anyone else.  Their lives are no more or less valuable than some other stranger.  So, I can see people that don't like that this became a vendetta.  But I fully support officers in the moment when someone is not complying to reasonable requests, like "put down your weapon and come outside."

^^^ The issue as I see it is once someone has knowingly killed cops they are likely to never give up. Cops in a standoff have to be prepared for anything but in most cases it is just a standoff until they can subdue someone. In the case of a cop killer, they likely are not going to give you any options that would lead to their capture. They are already in it all the way.
