^ What does reputation have to do with anything?  That is such a weak argument.

Pull stats all you want.  Regular season doesn't mean squat once the playoffs roll around.  Baltimore had a reputation for being a defensive team and it was their defense that shut down Tom Brady in the AFC Title game last year, then shut down Kaepernick in the Super Bowl until the power went out.

The Giants had a reputation for being a defensive team.  We all saw what they did in 2011.

If you want to mess with stats, here are some for you.  Five times in Super Bowl history, the top offense and the top defense have clashed.  In four of those times, the defensive team won.

Giants defense was awful in 2011 I don't care what their "reputation" is. Bill Belichick has had a reputation of a great defensive coach yet he hasn't fielded a great defensive team in many years. And your little super bowl history stat is worthless unless you tell me what years those games were played. Because as we all know in the 70's and 80's the sport was very different. Rules weren't tilted so heavily towards the offense as they are now.

Watching it now on NFL network replay.  I still can't believe how horrible the entire Broncos team played
