Delmas got hurt this morning. Needed to be carted off the field. Doesn't look good same knee as his ACL from last year. Thomas and Atkins have looked good in camp but not sure if they are "starters." Bernard Pollard is a FA safety out there.

For the Panthers Kelvin Benjamin injured his knee and it looked bad. Went down non-contact...usually a real bad sign

From what I read both players were hurt non-contact. I was already concerned about Delmas. I expect this is bad news.

Makes you wonder what is going on with the field they are practicing on. Two non-contact injuries in one day.. and one from a guy who isn't coming off surgery.

I didn't know Delmas was back from injury.  Did he rush to get back?

Yes he did. Surprised the coaches had him doing as much as he was doing honestly. Should have handled with with care like they are with Albert. But oh well.

I suspect it may be close to career ending. Delmas just has had too many injury issues. He should not have been on the field today I don't think.

Per the Miami Herald: When Dolphins signed Delmas, they protected themselves for this scenario, I'm told. Delmas' 2015 salary drops by ~$1M w/ preseason IR desig.

I was quite surprised myself.  Injury and surgery mid-late December?  That's crazy talk for a turnaround time on an ACL, especially with as much cutting and stopping.  I feel for the guy, but surprised by the quick return to practice/drills. Prob not the best decision, but I'm sure he was cleared by staff DRs and the stuff.

My boy just called me to tell me the bad news and I told him thy will be fine, people keep forgetting that the difference up from with Suh will make the LBs and CBs/Safeties better at their positions.  This will be evident early on, mark it down.

Although no positions are "easy" to replace, at least Safety is a little easier than most others.  Still hate to see anyone get injured.  I feel for the guy.

Apparently Kelvin Benjamin tore his ACL today as well, on the same field.

All ACL injuries are not created equally. It can go anywhere from slight tear to complete tear and obviously the recovery time for each is different. I would imagine that Delmas' injury last year was the mild tear variety which allowed him to get back to practicing this quickly and honestly there's very little correlation between having an ACL tear and having another one on the same knee. It can certainly happen but the odds aren't any larger just because you have had one, it just seems that way because we tend to really only remember when guys tear up the same knee twice and forget the hundreds of ACL tears that get fixed and never reinjured. It's really unfortunate for Delmas, but there really was no reason to be holding him out of practice unless he was still feeling pain or something in the knee and I doubt very much that was the case or he wouldn't have been out there practicing. Delmas wasn't rushed back, he just recovered from his injury quickly and then hurt it again.
