Apparently Ross admitted that Parcells told him Cambell needs to be his man. So in essence ... We are still being led by "take the money and run". Has Ross not found anyone to lean on yet?

Hmmm well does Ross have anyone better.  Exactly how many 2x sb winning hc are in Ross's contact list?

Ross has two persons he can solicit honest advice from, Parcells is one the other was a great qb, but as a tv host has never said anything to convince me has brilliant insight into the game

Ross is close to Dungy. Surprised he doesn't turn to him for help

As a smart businessman I'd expect have sought advice from some of the other owners a while back. Even Dan can recommend reliable people who would have helped him find someone to lean on. I really don't think I'd look towards a former employee who took my money and quit early.

I think it is a bit of an overstatement to say Parcells is what influenced the decision. Parcells was asked about Campbell as he formerly coached him. I don't see anything odd with that at all. Here is what I saw that Ross said, "I have always observed, talked to people about our staff. While I never spent a lot of time with Dan, I've spoken to people."

The article also adds, "He said interim coach Dan Campbell is a candidate for the permanent job and he spoke to several former coaches and others about him, including Bill Parcells."

While Parcells' input was positive for Campbell it doesn't appear he was the only person spoken to. I don;t think this is odd. How many people have been asked to provide references before?

Tannenbaum learned at the foot of Parcells. To think Tannenbaum wasn't going to promote Campbell would be surprising, of course that was going to be his guy for the interim.  They both come from the same learning tree

This is the perfect example of taking something out of context and running with it. The Dolphins spoke with several of Campbell's former coaches. Parcells is a former coach.

That's not how it was presented.

Exactly, because our local beat writers love to make a mountain out of a molehill.

But when Ross answered the question, he specifically said they contacted all his former coaches and Parcells happened to be one. The media just ran with the Parcells meme.
