Isaac was 6'0" 188 pounds. Smith is 6'1" at 170 pounds. May not seem like a lot but it is a big difference. I don't think I would cry and break things if we drafted Smith, but I don't think it would be the slam dunk that Chase would be.

Chase also took a year off. Hard to say how that will effect him. He might need a little time getting back into the game. I'm not convinced there's much difference between Chase and Smith.

One thing to keep in mind though... Smith played last season and won the Heisman. Chase sat it out...

One effect of Covid-19 with the last (Australian) AFL draft was than more emphasis was put into players who actually played the year leading up (in areas that has not been shut down). States like South Australia and Western Australia had a lot more players selected almost purely on the basis that they were playing that year and the recruiters could see them in game action (or on tape).

It's been funny there has been little mention of this leading up to the NFL draft, like recruiting doesn't think of it as a major factor. Maybe not in the NFL, but if it does turn out to be the case the draft could be potentially a bit different to what people expect.
