I have been watching a lot of brutal, old foreign shit, so I took a breather and watched some readily available, short movies.  All of these are an hour and a half.

The best of them was Palm Springs.  Really great time loop movie that bends some of the tropes, but was also sweet, charming, funny, and really delved into its concepts.  It's on Hulu.

Nobody was Taken x John Wick.  The message may be a little toxic, like you are somehow less manly if you aren't violent, but if you don't think too hard, it's really cool action with very little story needed to support it.  It's on HBO Max.

Kimi, also on HBO Max, is very much like Hitchcock's real window, but for a  modern age.  It's also very much set in and around COVID, which is cool to see that directly tied into a movie's narrative.  It doesn't overstay its welcome, which is its best quality.  Premise, setup, resolution -- you're done.

I liked all three.

^^^ I'm a big Odenkirk fan as well, and I enjoyed watching Nobody quite a bit. Good to see him kick some ass instead of talking his way out of trouble...  I haven't seen either of the other two yet, but I have HBO Max and Hulu, soo I probably will at some point.
