It's a painful loss, to be sure, however, I can't help but feel some positives

1) I didn't expect it to be this close.

2) Tua seemed to improve as the game went on.  In practice this week, I bet they will work on some short throws to get that going.

3) Usually they win a game like this, then lose all their remaining games (2002, 2006, 2013, 2017, 2018, 2020) Maybe this year, they will win the last two after suffering a crushing defeat.

Bad things,

1) McDaniels' cowardice in the fourth quarter.  They needed to go for it on their last two drives.  The second to last one because it would have made it a two score game.  The last one because if they got stopped, they still leave time for their offense to get the ball back if Buffalo scores

2) The play calling in the first quarter.  They abandoned the run on their first scoring drive.  They did NOT abandon the run in the second half.  The Bills were crowding the line of scrimmage.  I didn't have a problem with the pass plays on third and short in the second half.

2) The secondary is awful.  It seemed like they were playing for the Bills

In general....

It seemed the Bills were crowding the line of scrimmage on third and short.  That's why they tried those passes.

All good points, but damn this one hurt. Remember back, not so long ago, when we just needed to win two more games to win a playoff spot, and were the #2 spot in the AFC?  That seemed so close, so achievable four games ago. I really didn’t see this three game tailspin coming back then. That seems like such a long time ago now, like some other season years ago. I had fooled myself into believing that things would be different this time. That Tua was like a young Dan Marino, and Coach McDaniel was the 2nd coming of Don Shula. More importantly than that though, the Dolphins were fun to watch again. I think that was what seduced my mind into conjuring up images of not only playoff berths reached, but playoff victories achieved. But here in the real world on this side of a three game plummet, it’s plausible, even likely that those two wins needed to make the playoffs at all may never come.

I resolved after the Miami Miracle to never take anything for granted ever again, nor to celebrate ever again until they had clinched a playoff spot.  This year has been a huge test of that.  We started off great, but in reality, we had just been getting lucky.  This is half a team.  The 2021 team is probably better than the 2022 team.

They came back from double digit deficits against the Lions and Ravens.  They could have very easily lost to Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Chicago.

Tom Brady can make a career out of that.  Miami, (and most teams) cannot even make a season out of it

Here's what is going through my head right now

1) What a horrible loss.  They had a clear chance to win this game, but could not come through 2) Well, in the past they've won games like this against the Patriots, but then faltered at the end of the year, maybe things will change 3) Losing this game may motivate them to correct their mistakes and come ready to play against NE and NYJ, while in the past they have collpased after a major late season win 4) Go to step one and repeat

Moved thread to Anti-Fins Chat.

At least you acknowledge that it is true.

You were comparing this team to the 1999 Rams.

Also, there are some positives in this thread.  Why was it moved?
