One player on defense, one on offense. Everyone else is fired. Who are you keeping?

Mine: Waddle, and Phillips

Tough question (and a good one). Assuming you could get rid of players with minimal cap consequences (which we know ain't exactly real)...

Offense: Patrick Paul.

I'd love to say Achane, but we know it's never gonna happen. Usually I would pick a franchise QB, but I just don't trust Tua, especially for the $$$ he is on. Waddle hasn't done enough to convince me either, and you can lump Jackson in that boat. Paul has shown enough already that he may just be a mainstay for the blind side of a right handed QB - and for a potential stud still on a rookie contract, he's cheap for a couple of years.

Defense: Jordyn Brooks.

He's been consistently productive here, and he's relatively cheap. If you find a good LB, that's not a bad start to build a defense around. Chop Robinson was the other serious consideration (especially being on a rookie contract), but outside of the latter half of last season, he's been a disappointment - maybe it's because of the limited number of plays this season? Prior to this year I would have said Sieler, but I'm beginning to think now he may have been very lucky to have had Wilkins and then Campbell getting most of the attention, and he's not quite as good as we all thought.

Well based on guys that would be hardest to replace, have a good upside, and have reasonable salaries:

Offense: Patrick Paul

Defense: Chop Robinson

Although I'd hate to lose Waddle, Achane, and Sieler.

If someone had asked me this question in 2000, I would have replied, "Can I just keep two defenders?  Because no one on the offense is worth building around."

And I feel exactly the opposite today: there is no one on this defense worth keeping.  Sieler does not have the talent to be a franchise building-block, and he's on the wrong side of his 30th birthday.  Minkah has the talent, but... he might be washed?  Phillips ain't got it, Chubb is too old, Chop has fallen off hard.

I know this is going to be an extremely unsatisfying answer, but after seeing two and a half decades of whiff-after-whiff at QB, I am not yet ready to give up on the first Pro Bowl-caliber QB the Dolphins have fielded since Marino; the savior of the franchise that all of us were desperately hoping to draft six years ago.  I have seen the Dolphins field Pro Bowl RBs, WRs, and TEs this century.  I have only seen one Pro Bowl QB.

If I have to take one offense and one defense:  Tua and Minkah.
If I get to pick any two: Tua and Patrick Paul.
