Think of the most trustworthy person you know; a person you would trust with your life.
If this person tried to tell you that their partner got pregnant But They Totally Did Not Have Sex (and she didn't cheat), you would laugh in their face.
But we're supposed to believe 2000-year-old third-hand accounts, relayed by people decades after the fact, as "evidence" of this miracle. And the same goes for talking burning bushes, and parting seas, and people turning into salt pillars... all things that you would categorically deny from anyone trying to claim as real today.
Give me a break.
And that is not even the part that requires the most cognitive dissonance.
I can almost understand how someone could be gullible enough to believe that the bible is the literal truth. But to accept it as the literal truth and then read....
"You shall love ... your neighbor as yourself."
Luke 10:27
Believe that is the literal word of god and then support ICE.
Or believe that "I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me." Matthew 25:35 is the literal word of god but that taxing billionaires to pay for school lunches is the work of the devil.
What is crazier than believing Jesus is a messenger from god it is how they don't even listen to the message.
