Pavano Injured

I found this article last night on Yankees.com. For us Bronx Bomber fans, I don't think there's much we can do besides roll our eyes and wonder why the hell we gave this guy such a big contract.

I suppose the one saving grace is that Pavano actually says he's fine in a quote in the article, and it's only two weeks that he'll be having to rehab with a stabilizer. Still, this early in the season, it's not a good sign. Sigh.

This is good news because if he is on the DL, that means he can't pitch for us.

Pavano is a perfect example of what happens when the free agent market for pitchers are thin. You end up overpaying for mediocrity. The Blue Jays will find that out this year too.

Pavano was Cashman's call, but Jaret Wright was the Tampa department's call and they are no longer in power.

While I don't think Aaron Small will continue his 10-0 performance, he will probably pitch better than Pavano and even if he doesn't, maybe we call up a few AAA guys and see if they can be respectable.

Edge, I don't know much about Columbus' pitching rotation and whether or not it can do well in the bigs. I do know that there is a lot of talk and hype about that kid Eric Duncan. Where's a good source for AAA pitching rosters and info?
