“Gran Turismo 3” is simply one of the most detailed, most complete driving games ever made.  Its meticulous detail to physics, licensed exotic car models, and sound made it unmatched in its genre.  The heart of the game lies in its simulation mode, where cars handle like their real life counterparts.  The only drawback to the series is that due to the use of officially licensed cars, they were not allowed to take on damage.  Still, the game is absolutely beautiful, with sharp environments, and unmatched model detail, taking full advantage of the PS2 hardware.

The first great football game ever made, “Tecmo Super Bowl” was also the first to be officially licensed and feature all 28 NFL teams.  It also had the players from the NFLPA and realistic stats for each.  An even more groundbreaking feat was that the game featured full length schedules, including post season, and a Pro Bowl, with accompanying stats.  Despite being surpassed by EA Sports as the leader in football games, “Tecmo Super Bowl” still has cult following to this day.

Editors note: In researching this game, I learned that a knock on it is that Dan Marino is possibly the most athletic man in the world in the SNES version, often able to run for as many yards as he throws.  That can’t be such a bad thing.

tough choice, GTA3 aspec was absolutely the most realistic racing game of its time.

Tecmo Super Bowl:  the greatest football game EVER,  even to this day.  Love it!  Nice addition.   ;D   Racing games... blech.

I probably shouldn't try to influence anyone's vote as an editor of this thing...but Tecmo Super Bowl is one of the best games of all-time.  The NY Giants just won the Super Bowl, and you can record ridiculous stats with Lawrence Taylor.

I still do a season of Tecmo Super Bowl even to this very day.

I was always bummed that the GT3 cars didn't take on damage.  I was really into a few other racing games, mainly because of their realistic and horrific crashes (and subsequent damage models).

     Tecmo Super Bowl was a great game!  You could pile up such ridiculous passing stats with Marino, it was just insane!

Depending on the QB's abilities, they would throw different styles of passes.

For example, if your QB was in "Good" or "Excellent" condition, he would throw a very fast, laser-beam type pass

If your QB was in "Bad" condition, he would start to lob the ball up for grabs more.

This effect could be magnified or diminished significantly based upon the default stats and abilities of each QB.

so sad...i hope the far-improved GT4 is on this bracket somewhere to represent the GT franchise into the sweet 16 or farther...GT4 is the greatest-looking video game of all time, when taking into consideration the hardware it is rendered on. i swear, the PS2 is not capable of doing what it did with GT4...add the Driving Force Pro wheel, and the custom mount i made for it in my living room and you have the most immersive game ever made, driving or otherwise.
