Konami Bracket:

Ice Hockey (1988, NES)
Nintendo

Hockey has been made and remade for pretty much every system, but the original “Ice Hockey” for Nintendo, while not as visually stunning, is as fun as any of its successors.  It bent the traditional rules a little bit, not worrying about offsides or two-line passes, or most penalties.  What made the game particularly memorable was the strategy involved in selecting your team.  There were three body types with which to fill your roster.  You could choose any combination of fat guys, who were slow and strong, skinny guys, who were fast and weak, or normal guys, who were average all-around.  And the half-time zamboni show is worth staying in your seat for.

VS.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002, Multi)
Rockstar

“Grand Theft Auto” emerged on the PC as a top down action game, but made a name for itself for its violent and controversial subject matter.  When Rockstar North took the series to the next level with “GTA3”, bringing the game into a 3D world with open-ended gameplay, the series became an overnight sensation.  It’s follow up, “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” was one of the most anticipated sequels of all time, and it lived up to the hype and expectation of the most harsh critics.  By adding a real-life 80s soundtrack, all-star voiceover cast and a slick Miami style, plus gameplay tweaks and additional elements to expand the world, what was left was one of the most fun, most polished, and most complete games ever created.

This is no contest, IMO.  GTA was revolutionary, and controversial, and never-ending fun!

I thought about using Blades of Steel for NES.  That game was bigtime.  However, it really doesn't matter, as GTA:VC is one of the best games ever and would most likely mop the floor with any hockey game.

Blades of Steel should have been in this match, but VC probably would have won anyway.

As much as Blades of Steel ruled, Vice City blows this game completely out of the water.

loved GTA3, HATED vice city...so i'm voting for Ice Hockey, even though it stands no chance, and i've never played it.

You loved GTA3 and hated Vice City, huh?  Interesting.  In my opinion, Vice City was better in every aspect.  Size, variety in missions, atmosphere, music, story, graphics, vehicles....everything.  I can understand possibly liking GTA3 more since it was the innovator or something, but how is it possible to hate VC, since it's essentially the same game as GTA3 with considerable updates?
