“The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion” is the only current generation console game to make our bracket of 64.  The reviews its receiving are unheralded, and some are already calling it the best RPG ever created.  It’s production values are through the roof, featuring the voice talents of Patrick Stewart, Linda Carter, Sean Bean, and Terrance stamp.  It is a step forward in open-ended gameplay, allowing the player to leave the main quest at any time to develop the greater story, however he/she sees fit.  Only time will tell how this game will hold future gamer generations, but for now it’s making an impression on all those that play it.

“COW-A-BUNGA!!”.  In 1989, Konami released this 4-person scrolling fighting game to arcade rooms across the globe, and seemingly over-night, became the most popularly played game in the world.  The game achieved legendary status due to it’s smooth and addictive game play and resemblance to its popular TV animated series.  Many multi-player scrolling fighting games have since been released, mimicking TMNT’s platform design.

Elder Scrolls is probably very good, but for best game this round it definitely goes to Splinter and the boys. God this game was sweet, especially in the arcade. Scrolls may have the graphics but TMNT was just button mashing greatness at a time when TMNT were on their A game w/ the show, game, and movie, captured it all perfect.
