See below. I'm not sure whether this translates to better play on the field, but it suggests fewer DUI arrests and substance abuse issues, and fewer fights with cops.

Dolphins on a mission? They may have set a record already
By Tim Graham | Wednesday, May 7, 2008, 02:49 PM
The Dolphins might already own an NFL record in the Bill Parcells Era.
Dick Harmon, the long-time sports reporter for the Deseret News in Salt Lake City, writes the Dolphins may have the most Mormons on their roster than any other team has had. They have six.
Quarterback John Beck (BYU), center Samson Satele (Hawaii) and long snapper John Denney (BYU) are the veterans. Offensive lineman Shawn Murphy (Utah State) was a fourth-round draft pick. Wide receiver Davone Bess (Hawaii) and linebacker Kelly Poppinga (BYU) were undrafted rookie free agents.
Since religious preference isn’t listed on a player’s bio next to height, weight and hometown, we’ll have to take Harmon’s word for it. The Deseret News is owned by the Deseret Management Corporation, a for-profit holding company owned by the Mormon Church
