Let me start by saying that I'm generally pretty uninterested in cars.  So, for a show about cars to fully entertain me for an hour, they must be doing something right.

If you're a fan of cars, this is a must watch.  If you're not, it's still very entertaining and funny.

It's on BBC and revolves around these three mechanic type Brits doing vehicle challenges.  It kinda has a mythbusters feel.  They also have segments where they test and review cars (from Ferraris to Family Sedans to cars you've never heard of), and they also sometimes have interviews with actors, but they make them do a speed lap first.  Pretty good.

But, by far, the best part is these wacky challenges that they have to do.  One I saw, they had to make their own limo by cutting a regular car in half and stuffing some car parts in the middle.  One guy did it with a very small car, the other did it with a convertible, and the third took the front of two sedans, so it could drive in either direction.  Then they had to do all these obstacles with them and pick up celebrities for an awards night.

The one I saw most recently, the challenge was to buy a car in Africa for 1200 pounds and then drive all the way across the country, through these different elements.  They had to "modify" the cars along the way to fit the terrain, including taking off all the doors, windows and extra metal.  And then they screw with each other, by doing stuff like putting raw meat in their friends car to attract lions at night.

So, BBC, check it out.  Good show.

Yes, Top Gear is the shit, especially if you're into cars.

Clarkson is hilarious. I loved his review of the Veyron, and Stig's review of the Zonda was classic. I enjoyed the Lewis Hamilton episode last year too.

The Top Gear magazine is just as good as the show, and has plenty of wit to go along with the wealth of auto info inside it.

I've never seen Stig (any one of them) say a word. That's kind of the whole idea. Helmet on and you never find out who he is*.

This show rocks. First time I watched it one of the main guys was driving an Alfa Romeo and he was talking mad shit about it. I had never seen an American commentator say anything remotely negative to that degree about a test car before.

I just watched it on you tube.  " If a surgeon used a chainsaw, this would be it". Brilliant.
