'72 - The Perfect Season

I usually check out the NFL section of cbssportsline for a couple of the weekly features.  In addition to the expert picks and game forecasts,  I like to see where the Dolphins are in Power Rankings.  I'm not surprised that we are viewed as the worst team in the NFL, but I was confused by this remark by the author -

"OK, so now it's finally Chad Henne's team. What took so long? It's clear they're playing for two years down the road."

Pete Prisco, who puts the ranking together has been ranting about starting Henne, but this sounds like Henne has been announced as the starter.  At first I thought I had missed the news, but after a quick search, it looks like Pennington is the starter and there has been no indication that Henne is being considered to start in NE.

It's not Chad Henne's team yet.

Please, everybody, let's not make a big deal out of a drive that happened during garbage time

Everyone apparently is...... myself included.  Anything to inject some life (and wins) into this team would be welcome at this point.

Why does anyone care about wins this year?  Is 5-11 that much better than 3-13?   Still not close to the playoffs.  Still drafting in the top 10.   Its going to be a losing season with or without Henne starting & he will start at some point.  Hopefully in Game 16.

Why is it that people have a hard time learning from past mistakes?  Miami would be in a better place this year, had they not started Beck last year with no help around him.  Those 4 games set him back in his development.  You guys expect far too much for rookies & especially rookie Qbs.

Henne is now the bright shining item waiting to be purchased & even though you cannot afford it & shouldn't buy it, you simply cannot stop yourself.   If you want to increase the chances of Henne being ruined then put him in.  If you want to increase the chances of long term rewards then sit on him &  pick the spots in different parts of games & let him slowly get up to speed.

Sitting on a young Qb is NEVER the wrong move.  Putting him in could be alright, but it increase the chances of making a mediocre QB out of him.

Good post Dphins4me.

And cue the remarks about "Peyton started as a rookie, Big Ben started as a rookie, Marino started as a rookie" in 5, 4, 3......
