 AP - Sep 26, 5:36 pm EDT NFL Gallery DENVER (AP)—Denver Broncos Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway is engaged to a former Oakland Raiders cheerleader.

The Rocky Mountain News reported Friday that the two-time Super Bowl winner proposed to 41-year-old Paige Green during a trip to Italy last week.

Elway told the newspaper he was “looking forward to a long life together” with Green.

The 48-year-old Elway was previously married to Janet Elway for 18 years. They have four children.

Elway met Green during a celebrity golf tournament three years ago

Janet Elway is a socialite and John is not that outgoing. That's what led to their divorce.

Janet is very active in community projects and I think that she has a boyfriend. They had a big write up about it in the Denver Post four years ago. Elway, at the time, was still single. So they came back two years ago with a write up of Elway being alone.

Elway was coaching at his sons high school and working with other kids on their football skills at Cherry Creek. If it ain't about football, forget it.

It's hard to believe that Elway is pushing 50.
