I'm of the opinion that this game against the Pats is a must win for us.  It's at home.  It's a good team.  It's in the division.  It's part of a streak.  It's down the stretch.  It represents all of the things that we need to do if we're to be taken seriously.

And it's a game that at the beginning of the season, and as recently as last week, that I thought we shouldn't win.

If we can beat the Pats, it'll give us tremendous momentum to beat up on some of these lesser teams coming up, and really put the heat on other teams in our division.

If we lose, we're just another middle of the pack team squeaking out losses to the crap of the league.

If Miami wants to keep it's pursuit of a playoff berth alive, you bet it's a must win game.  7-4 we sweep the Pats and it only increases our chances of winding up in the Wild Card, and like you said it gives the team momentum in it's final run down the stretch.  If we lose, the Dolphins would technically still be a part of the Wild Card picture. but it would probably have to rely on a bunch of scenarios just to try and sneak in.  Every game is crucial at this juncture for the Dolphins, but they especially HAVE to win this game against the Pats.

When you're up against a team that's battling for playoff position like you are, then it is a must win, division rival or not.

A 7-4 record would put us 3 games above .500 for the first time since the end of the 2003 season.

This is the biggest game the Dolphins will have played since the playoff game in Oakland in 2000.

It's a playoff game for both teams.  We know New England is going to be focused and their big game experience clearly is more than ours.  We know New England will be ready for this game, they have a long week to prepare and any hopes of either team making the playoffs (barring a massive collapse by Brett Faver Media Whore or Baltimore down the stretch) are riding on this game.

Every game is a must win.

^^^^ Word.  But only if we want to get to the Playoffs. The Dolphins should not be stressed out at all becuase we have already surpassed all the expectations.
