Or if you have any loved ones stationed or working in Fort Hood, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I must admit that when I heard they identified the (primary) shooter, I hoped his name was "John Smith"...

My BIL just finished his active duty and he and my sister were at Ft. Hood for 4 1/2 years. He left for good about a month ago. They still have a lot of friends stationed there, I don't know if they've gotten in touch with everyone yet

Wow, how eerie. My wife's brother just left Hood (for good) about a month ago as well! He was also stationed there for about the last 4 years, although most of that time he was in Iraq. My wife was just reading the story, and the building where the shootings happened was where here baby bro worked.

My sister headed here when her DH was shipped over for his second tour (she was preggers with her second). It's so sad, I just read on CNN that it was a doctor

Why is that? I'm asking because I don't know if I even thought about "who" he was unitl after I had learned.

This is the first I'm hearing of this -- kind of out of touch, because I'm on the road.  Terrible.

People wigging out and killing other people still makes me sad, but this sort of thing stopped shocking me a long time ago. Hopefully the families of the victims can find some peace.

Because it'll play into existing fears and increase the risk of innocent people being harassed.
