I was walking out of the courthouse, and one of our clients family approached me.(I had interviewed the brother as part of the case, and he pointed me out to his Mother) She walks up to me and says..."You will waive your Fee, because it's the Christian thing to do......You will waive your fee, because it's the Christian thing to do...You will Waive your fee because it's the Christan thing to do....."  Then she just stood there...I asked who she was....She told me...then she walked away...One of the attorneys that I work with walks up behind me and says "Did she try to Jedi Mind trick you too?"

I have to admit,I didn't have a clue what she was trying to do......I'm thankful,I didn't say what I was thinking....

You're going to wake up tomorrow morning and suddenly decide to waive your fee.  Because, after all, its the Christian thing to do...

To answer your question, the lady is a combination of a religious nut and "some quack".

She must have just watched "The secret" and figures if she thinks about it real hard, you'll waive your fee.

Is the Christian thing to do to skirt your obligation to pay your bills and hide behind God in an attempt to guilt someone into making a living so they can pay their own bills?

I would not only charge her, but I would bill her for your time for having to stand their and smell her breath while she said that to you.

Not the point of the thread, I know...sorry...

I vote that she was a crazy person.  The term "religious nut" is somewhat redundant.    Grin

That's pretty weird.  Maybe she was joking.

When I'm at Costo without a card and they're scanning at the door, I wave my hand and say "you don't need to see any identification".  I usually do it to get a laugh out of my friends or family, but it's never failed me.

I think she was just a weirdo making a joke. A bit of a strange one, but still a joke.

You should have said "You will stop asking me for stupid favors, because it's a lame thing to do," repeated that 3-4 times and see if she walked away.

When I'm at Costo without a card and they're scanning at the door, I wave my hand and say "you don't need to see any identification".

I've adopted variations of "these are not the droids you're looking for" into my conversational arsenal, and it usually gets a good laugh out of folks.

She wasn't joking....

I called the office a little while ago, asked one of the front desk ladies," So have you been Jedi Mind tricked today? " There was a long Pause..."B are you drunk?" I tilde the story, She joked She'd threaten her with a Vulcan Nerve Pinch .....(Yeah I know ones Star Wars, and ones Star trek)

The Temp lady up there made a good point, I should have taken it as a compliment....She thought of me as someone who had some sort of power, and not the peon that I really am....Which is a good point,I have absolutely no power, and don't even know how we charge.....

I can't say what else the Temp said,or what I was really thinking....I think it might be offensive to some people....

This thread should have a poll....

Scifi Geek,

Religious nut,

or just some Quack

I vote quack.

I agree with Dolphster, religious nut is redundant terms.

The jedi mind trick is a great thing to throw into a conversation for a little brevity, but it does not sound as if she was doing this
