Basil Marceaux (dot com) is running for governor of Tennessee.  He's very popular on the interwebs because of his raving intelligence and controversial stance on the issues.

I am wondering - is this guy for real?  I want to laugh if he is, but I feel bad because I don't know if there's something wrong with him.  According to his Wikipedia page, there is speculation that he was drunk.

This video shows three of his "commercials" with translation.

So is this guy for real?  Who would vote for him?

I think he thinks he is for real, but no one else does. He hasn't made it past the primary. I could be in the same position as him if I was from Tennessee and a publicity hound.

His website advises you to click on a link for the answer to a burning question that many of us have had for years:  "Can a Democrat say the pledge of allegiance?"

(The link on the website is dead, but you can go here to solve this eternal quandry.)

I don't put anything into this guy.  He's a guy who's probably not all there upstairs.

I believe his upstairs was gutted by an electrical fire...

They played this audio on Howard Stern last week, and I was cracking up. Ashamed to say he was born in PA!
