He also gave him a 45% chance of being an Elite QB someday which is a lot better than a few of the other QB's ranked above him currently.

And I don't know why he lists Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco as Elites when neither of them have really proven they are yet in my opinion.

Clayton has Favre listed at #5 on this list...that should have been clue #1 that this was total rubbish.

Ahhhh, I didn't see that this was a ranking for last season...my bad.

Roll Eyes

Brett Favre is 162 years old. He had an anomaly of a season last year. These two items are indisputable facts (though Favre's age might actually only be 156)

He isn't the 5th best QB in the NFL right now, that's for sure.

It seems like Clayton forgot to set a solid premise. The result is a mishmash good, potentially good and good last year. I think it would have been more coherent, had he decided to go just with what he felt they would do THIS season (or how they did last season, or "career" or whatever... just pick one and stick with it).

How can Peyton Manning be trending up?

He's overvaluing Brady, esp. given the injury and performance last year, but we'll see.

Favre played superbly last year, but I doubt he'll be more than mediocre this year. Age, the ankle, the receivers... nothing looks as good as last year. (Only trending "slightly down"? Really?)

Roethlisberger #4? Really? Clear product of a mix-and-match ranking system with no clear premise.

Hassel at #17 may be the biggest reach on the list...

I don't really disagree much with his Henne rating... hard to know what he can do yet and if I only had a quarterback for 1 season, there are certainly many I'd take before Henne.

Looking at the popular opinion (ESPN poll asking you to rank all 32, number indicates "points"):

1 Peyton Manning 405,284
2 Drew Brees 395,687
3 Tom Brady 377,372
4 Aaron Rodgers 359,992
5 Brett Favre 318,932
6 Philip Rivers 311,237
7 Tony Romo 276,642
8 B. Roethlisberger 270,830
9 Matt Schaub 254,357
10 Eli Manning 251,415
11 Carson Palmer 248,240
12 Joe Flacco 243,792
13 Donovan McNabb 241,361
14 Matt Ryan 230,624
15 Jay Cutler 177,124
16 Vince Young 151,934
17 Kevin Kolb 147,912
18 Matt Hasselbeck 145,148
19 Kyle Orton 145,125
20 Mark Sanchez 136,809
21 Chad Henne 129,950
22 Matt Cassel 126,638
23 Matthew Stafford 122,358
24 David Garrard 113,299
25 Jason Campbell 110,838
26 Alex Smith 102,628
27 Sam Bradford 95,111
28 Jake Delhomme 89,392
29 Matt Moore 75,511
30 Josh Freeman 72,823
31 Derek Anderson 71,276
32 Trent Edwards 69,125
33 Byron Leftwich 65,257
34 Matt Leinart 56,533

Tru-dat!!! Henne ain't no damn good. How long has he been playing q.b.? NO TOUCH (never had it and never will) Big, tough, s.o.b., leadership skills and a cannon. Afraid he will never be better than a average n.f.l. starter. Matt Ryan will be elite very soon how i wish we would have paid him.

I'm fine with Henne at 25.  It seems pretty accurate, from what we've seen so far.  It doesn't mean that he will always stay at 25.
