Wow... talk about nuts... This guy was into "saving the Earth", an admirable goal on the face of it, but is totally bonkers. Well, was, the police just killed him. From some of his online writings:

"Civilization must be exposed for the filth it is," he writes. "Saving the Planet means . . . decreasing the Human population. That means stopping the human race from breeding any more disgusting human babies!"

(The article is behind an annoying login... like what the Miami Herald has just (re-)introduced...)

Damn.  My plan for tomorrow was to seize weather channel cause their programming is so damn boring.  Now when I do it, I going to seem so unoriginal.

Claim that you're seizing The Weather Channel to stop global warming, and you're good to go...

When I first heard that someone was grumpy at the Discovery Channel, I thought that the most likely person would be a young-Earth creationist.  I was surprised to hear that it was an environmentalist.  ...but then, I read a little of his manifesto and was like "oh...".

I'm down with being green and sustainability, but this guy was flat-out crazy. Though, I agree with his hatred of that miserable show Kate Plus 8 or whatever.
