With Farve's return it is time to start tracking his progress on three records he almost certainly will break this year.

Most Times Sacked, Career
516 John Elway, Denver, 1983-1998
503 Brett Favre, Atlanta, 1991; Green Bay, 1992-2007; N.Y. Jets, 2008; Minnesota, 2009

Needs 13 sacks to tie, 14 to break the record,  last year 34 times, only once had he had less than 14.  He had 12 in 2004, his max was 40 in '96.  I predict he breaks this one by week 10.

Most Fumbles, Career
161 Warren Moon, Houston, 1984-1993; Minnesota, 1994-96; Seattle, 1997-98; Kansas City, 1999-2000
159 Brett Favre, Atlanta, 1991; Green Bay, 1992-2007; N.Y. Jets, 2008; Minnesota, 2009

Needs 2 to tie, 3 to break.  Only once has he had less than 4 fumbles, last year he had only 2.   Sad

Most Games, 300 or More Yards Passing, Career
63 Dan Marino
61 Brett Favre

needs 2 to tie 3 to break.  last year he had 5, he should break this one as well.

Even the "bad" stats are something to be proud of.  It's all due to longevity.

The problem is that the good records will all be held by Peyton soon anyway.  So at the end of the day, Favre will be left holding the bag with every bad record.

Sounds like just desserts will follow the waffle breakfast.

If you play for 100 years, you will own every record.  It doesn't make you a "great" player, just good enough to make a roster spot for a long time.

That does make you a great player.  It's not just a roster spot; if you're good enough to start at QB for as long as Favre did, you're great.

What's the over/under on how many games he'll play.  The all time "record" could be saved by Favre injuries.

1 fumble; 2 sacks.....

This is the kinda of progress Favre needed after the slow start week 1 of only one sack

I never though Warren Moon was all that great...good yes, but great no.  He had such a long career that all of those stats added up, making a good player great in the HOF voters mind.

He was the first and only good run and shoot QB.  I don't know if it's HOF worthy, but it's got to count for something.

Moon had value outside the run and shoot, also, which is why he stuck around for so long.

Plus, he liked to kick his wife's ass, which is a boon, apparently, to most HOF voters.  Just kidding, but not really, on that count.
