There were definitely issues today.  Our protection of our QBs was bad.  Pennington got sacked right away, then injured on the next play.  Henne was hurried all day, and even if not actually hurried, had no pocket to step up.  Thigpen made things happen, but created his own time by rolling out.

That said, I think that the coaching staff did a better job today.  They rolled the dice a bunch of times.  Even though many (most) of these were unsuccessful, it showed a will to win and put your opponent away that I hadn't seen enough of this year.  We ran a fake punt, we ran a flea-flicker, we ran several different looks of the wildcat (instead of Brown to right tackle), we used our TE in the air, and we went deep several times.

I'm happy with that.  I feel that the coaching staff is loosening up a bit and taking their shots, which is just what we needed.

Though we didn't play particularly well, this was a game where we put our opponent away and scored more offensive points than in any other game this year.  We have some things to work on, but I am glad to see that we're not content in being stale and unevolving.

We won a game against a good AFC team at HOME today and contrary to what certain people on this board will say kept ourselves alive for the postseason. To me that makes for a good day.

coaching is not the issue that plague this team... it would be bad to throw this group out at the end of the year and start all over yet again.

players won't give up on this coaching staff, they will continue to fight hard and not quit.
