Woodly took us to a Super Bowl, he should be ahead of Fiedler.
Actually it was Andra Franklin and the Killer B defense that took us to the Superbowl. Woodley was an average QB at best.

Franklin's stats: (Remember this was a stike shortened 9 game schedule, not 16 games)

ATT YDS AVG TD
177 701 4.0  7

That would have been over 1200 yards rushing for 16 games.

And from Wikipedia

"In the strike-shortened 1982 NFL season, the Dolphins, led by the "Killer B's" defense (Bob Baumhower, Bill Barnett, Lyle Blackwood, Kim Bokamper, Glenn Blackwood, Charles Bowser, Doug Betters, and Bob Brudzinski), held five of their nine opponents to 14 or fewer points en route to their fourth Super Bowl appearance. During the first two rounds of the 1982–83 NFL playoffs, they got revenge for previous losses, crushing the New England Patriots, 28–13 (revenge for the infamous Snow Plow game at Schaeffer Stadium played earlier in the season) and the San Diego Chargers, 34–13 at the Orange Bowl. In successive games against San Diego and the NY Jets, the ballhawking Miami defense logged ten interceptions, five each against Dan Fouts and Richard Todd. After shutting out the New York Jets in the AFC Championship 14–0 (aided by Shula's alleged instructions to the stadium's grounds crew to leave the field uncovered throughout a week-long rain in Miami, which was done to negate the Jets superior edge in team speed), the Dolphins lost Super Bowl XVII to Washington, 27–17. After enjoying success rooted in a defense-first philosophy, and employing a ball control offense to take pressure off of lackluster quarterbacks, the next 17 seasons would be marked by an average rushing game and defense that limited a great quarterback."

Woodley's stats in '82

ATT CMP %CMP YARDS AVG TD INT RATING
179  98 54.7 1,080 6.0  5   8   63.5

That would have been less than 2000 yards passing for 16 games.

To be fair he also had 207 yards rushing (5.8 avg) and 2 TD's. He was a better RB than QB. He started because he was more mobile than Strock and could avoid sacks better and with the D Miami had, they didn't need much offense, they just needed to avoid negative yardage.

Even worse, our drought is causing us to crucify any QB at the first sign of adversity because we are desperate for another great one.
GIVE THIS MAN A PRIZE!

No QB will ever have success in Miami, unless he throws 10 consecutive 300 yard games with 0 INT's in his first 10 games as a pro.  People are too fickle to give guys a chance, and somehow the owners listen to the fans, and drive the team accordingly.

I have no argument with Fiedler being the 3rd best QB in franchise history.

I also have no argument with John Beck being the 1st best deer-in-headlights in franchise history.

(and yes, I know that "1st best" is redundant)

Jay Fiedler sucked horribly.  Pretty telling how much all who followed sucked.  I believe Penny was/(is?) better but just suffered from having a worse team AND bad luck with injuries.
