airbrushing / photoshopping things to hell

LilB, you're misunderstanding me.

Take whichever pic you like, e.g. the dutch cover you linked. THE BASE of that one is the one that's been photoshopped to hell. That same badly photoshopped base was used in multiple pics/covers and some of those were probably botched as well (including possibly the one I included originally), but that wasn't the point.

I want to take one of them and compare it side-by-side with what the girl actually looks like, but I'm afraid you'll just criticize the "fake". The problem being, that we don't have the original, only the photoshopped.

I'm saying that the photoshopping was BAD for two reasons:

1) It's UGLY.
2) It doesn't look like her AT ALL.

And, yes, if you compare any one of those (like the Dutch or even my original) with WHAT THE GIRL ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE (both in photoshoots and in the movie), it's abundantly clear that they decided to muck with EVERYTHING when they photoshopped it. They changed the shape and color of her eyes. They change the shape of her eyebrows, they changed her hair, her nose, her lips... pretty much EVERYTHING.

Regarding your link of "bad photoshopping", those are clearly MISTAKES. Had the photoshopper seen the mistake, it would've been fixed. That's not what I'm saying with this "photoshopping things to hell"... I'm saying that the job these guys are doing is BAD. It SUCKS. The product may not have extra fingers / arms / legs or other mistakes, but the complete job is just BAD. You can call that a "style" of photoshopping that I just happen not to like. Fine. I don't necessarily disagree with that, but that just brings me back to my first sentence in the original post: Why are big companies doing this? It's f'ugly.

I stand by they didn't mangle her picture,it's something we'll have to disagree about.......I took the picture from 2004 from IMBD ( perhaps close to when the picture they might have taken for the covers) I think this is what you wanted?

Even with the head tilted down (on the covers),the eyes match,the nose....I understand you don't like what they did to her picture,but that's part of being an actor IMO,not looking like you in different roles...I'm sorry you didn't recognized her...

On the bad mistakes...Hell they've passed editers,people who printed them...those aren't oops..those are You're fired fuck ups!

Nose: Changed.
Eye shape: Changed.
Hair: Changed.
Lips: Changed.

The Glamor shot, btw, is a lot newer than the movie and she looks older than in the movie.

As for the "part of being an actor" part... if you actually saw the movie, you'd know she looks NOTHING like either shot in it. Far from. So I don't get what you're saying about "not looking like you in different roles". The cover shot doesn't look like ANY version of her.
