I am trying to figure out what you possibly could have meant by this statement.

That's alright...I am trying to figure out what part of that statement actually stumped you. Ryan calls for other teams to step up and beat the Patriots. EK listed four teams that actually did beat the Patriots last season. Seems like a reasonable response to me...

Tha Patriots were 14-2 last season.  Lost to the Rams and Giants in preseason - who cares.  The only regular season losses were to the Browns and Jets...

I meant that 4 teams DID beat the Pats. Its not like the almighty Jets are the only ones who did. Rex needs to get off his high horse, his team doesn't walk on water, nor were they the only ones to challenge NE. When you throw out a challenge- "Hey, why doesn't the rest of the league help us out"- it reads as "we're the only ones who can beat NE. What's wrong with everyone else." I was pointing out that his notion is untrue. -EK

You're surprised that I can't figure out how four teams beat a 14-2 squad?

Anyway, the riddle has been solved: EK was counting meaningless preseason exhibition games as "wins."  I guess technically, the Lions weren't winless in 2008... they actually won all four of their preseason games!

P.S. That's an interesting interpretation of the term "last season" you have, there.

^^ Preseason or not, the Pats still beat the Bears like 35-7 or something.
