I'm in a league (other than TDMMC league) and there's a $1000 prize on the line..so maybe I'm over thinking this

QB's - Romo/Cassel
RB's - MJD/Steven Jackson/Benjarvis GreenEllis/Tomlinson
WR's- Santonio Holmes/Dwyane Bowe/Steve Smith (CAR)/Donald Driver/Devin Hester
TE's - Vernon Davis/Chris Cooley
Def - Pittsburgh
K - David Akers

who do I start for Week 2?!

So far:

QB - Romo
RB - MJD
RB - ?
RB/WR - ?
WR - ?
WR - ?
TE - Vernon Davis
DEF - Pittsburgh
K - Akers

Those are no brainers for me..but I'm having so much trouble filling in the blanks..thoughts? opinions?

Thanks guys!!

Romo
MJD
Benjarvus
Holmes
Bowe
Smith
Davis

Did you put in a waiver claim for Cadillac for the S-Jax handcuff? Are there any other RB prospects on your waiver wire? Depth at RB seems like it would be a concern.

I tried too but this other dude got him before me!!

and it's a 12 team league so the RB pool is really thin..Ernest Graham..Ricky Williams..Brian Leonard..John Kuhn are some of the "best players" available..nothing worth picking up...CJ Spiller is out there, but idk about him, plus someone just droped him so I wouldn't be able to pick him up in time I don't think

I agree with Stroke too.  Only question is on Smith against much better defense in Green Bay.  Good part about Smith is that they will likely be forced to throw the ball as you would expect Carolina to fall behind early.  Driver would seem like a good choice, but they really spread the ball around in Green Bay and I would expect a lot of run plays in the second half.

So all and all, go with Stroke's recommendations.

I noticed that report on Holmes this morning as well... The best substitute, should one be necessary, is definitely Driver. Since Holmes and Driver both play early 1 PM ET games, you're going to have to watch those pregame fantasy injury reports closely if planning to make a late switch. You also might want to double check your league's roster lock settings...is it game time? or 5 minutes before game time?

Another thought regarding Santonio... If he does play, how effective will he be with legitimate injuries to his knee and quad muscle? Santonio's strengths as a receiver are his quickness in and out of his cuts (to get separation), and the burst to run away from defenders once he makes the catch. I can't help but think that knee and quad injuries would affect his game more than it would for a bigger physical receiver like a Marques Colston-type.

I tend to play pretty conservatively when it comes to injured players. If I knew I wasn't going to be anywhere near a computer on Sunday morning, and had to set it "now"...I'd put Driver in there. Unless the pregame reports are "very" favorable on Santonio (I'm looking for terms like "full strength" and "100%"), I might still go with the healthy Driver.
