Shouldn't the strength and conditioning coach be preaching the necessity of hydrating? I would think that is one of the biggest part of his gameday responsibilities since they aren't going to be doing any time in the weight room. The other would be ensuring proper warmups and stretching.

I still gotta lay this on the players.  This is Florida.  I mean, we give mandatory water breaks to High School teams at night these days.  It isn't like evertyone and their brother is preaching hydration.

I thought his responsibility was directing players to form a wall on the sideline on kickoffs and punts.
That's only if you work for the Jets.

Jones for playing up against Brady, the ultimate no-no for a free safety against that Pats.  I don't care how many tackles he had.

And how can you blame the strength and conditioning coach with the short offseason and modified practice rules?  Of course guys aren't in typical football shape.

New England seemed to be fine.

Their offense ran hurry up, ours didn't.  Reacting to offense is tougher than executing plays.

Our pass rush gets the goat from me. If you allow Tom Brady the time to sit back there and conduct the orchestra, he'll drop a symphony on your ass every time.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't NE run the no huddle offense with their starters in the preseason games?

If that's the case, then Sporano should have seen it coming and made sure the team was in better shape to open the season.  I can't blame the conditioning coach for the head coach not doing his homework and making sure his team was physically prepared for the first game following the chaos of the offseason.  You know Bellichek was focusing on Miami since the schedule was released this spring.  Sporano should have done the same.

I think Doc-fins point was given the short preseason.  It would be impossible for any coach to have prepared the defense to be in shape to respond to the no huddle offense and any team in the NFL who ran the no huddle would have worn out any of the defenses.    (I don't buy that, but it seems to be Doc's argument.)  If you do buy that line of thinking, then Brian Daboll should be the GOAT, because he didn't run the no huddle and do to NE what NE did to Miami.

Hoodie, didn't the Pats run no-huddle in the preseason games with their starters?  I don't think it should have been a surprise to Sporano.

I think they did.

But  I don't think the excuse was that the no huddle surprised Mia, but the excuse was because of the new rules and lack of off-seasoning conditioning there was no possible way any coach could have prepared any team to the defend the no huddle in the Miami heat for an entire game without getting dehydrated, needing oxygen, etc.  It just couldn't be done even if you knew what NE was going to do.

If you agree with that excuse.  Miami should have ran the no huddle and done the same thing to the Pats.

Myopic.  You are saying Miami could have run no huddle all game with a new QB/coordinator combo and a short offseason.  Seriously?  There is no way (without pure luck) we could have run a bunch of no huddle and not just ended up punting or turning the ball over on a miscommunication, IMO.

Facts - The offseason was reduced.  The offseason is commonly referred to as the time to get into "football shape".  Defense wears down faster than offense (without substituting).  Our defense didn't get as much of a chance to substitute in this game as they would in a typical game.  The Pats defense had a chance to substitute defensive players.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the advantages the Pats offense had with all of the offensive continuity they have.

The Pats took advantage of the situation.  It worked.  It was slightly risky, but they had the offense to pull it off.  Hats off to them and I don't think they will be able to use that same strategy game in game out.
