I threw this in here because it pertains to baseball. I saw the movie last night and it seemed accurate. Have any of our resident baseball experts/fanatics seen it to compare it to what really happened?

I haven't.  I have read the book, I am told it's "pretty close."

THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

I saw it with my girlfriend for our one month anniversary.

It is almost completely accurate.

The blowing of the 2-0 lead against yankees is accurate.

The signings and the departures are accurate.

The early season struggles are accurate.

The 20 game winning streak is accurate, and so is the blowing of the 11 run lead in one game during that winning streak.

So is the resulting playoff series against the Twins.

They could have added at the end what happened the next year against the Red Sox when they blew a 2-0 lead against the Red Sox.

It was a great movie.

I read the book and enjoyed it, but I haven't seen the movie. I can't help but still think of Youk as the Greek God of Walks even though it doesn't fit anymore

Art Howe and some other scouts said it wasn't accurate. I remember Howe being really angry over how he was portrayed.

That line in the movie made me laugh.

I met Art Howe as a kid when he was playing for the Astros. I think he is always angry.  Cheesy

I'm looking forward to seeing this but keep thinking I'll be disappointed. Glad to see people are liking it.
