I'm confident that it would have forced them to have to score a TD, rather than winning it from 40 yards away.  Anytime you give points away in a game that close is a back breaker.

I'd have to say it's Matt Moore.  He turned over that resulted in points.  He didn't play a terrible game, but mistakes like those are magnified.

I think the Moore fumble was the turning point. We were holding their offense in check until we gave them the ball 5 yards out. Then the momentum shifted.....so it goes to Moore this week.

Except that they didn't win it from "40 yards away"... they won it from 10 yards out.  Had the defense been able to at least stiffen up, you would have an argument.  DAL effortlessly drove to Miami's 10-yard-line; in fact, they moved the ball so easily that they had to slow down and kill some clock.

Oh my word.

Why does everything have to be an argument?

Is it generally accepted in the NFL that scoring a TD is harder than kicking a field goal?

If yes, then you know what I mean.  For crying out loud.  I'm sure I don't have to explicitly state every minor assumed fact.  Crap.

Why can't I post my damn opinion without 20 people jumping on my ass telling me I'm wrong?

If you don't want to discuss your opinion, why post it to a message board?

You said that a converted FG in the 2nd quarter would have resulted in a win for Miami.  That is not remotely the same thing as saying "a TD is harder  to score than a FG," particularly when DAL drove down to the MIA 10 with nearly no problem.

Does a five-point-lead at that point in the game make it harder for DAL to win?  Sure, but based on the ease they already displayed on the final drive, not by much.  It's certainly nothing near "a five-point lead means the game is already over," which is what you implied.

^^^

Agreed w/ Spider.  Also if you're going to go that route blame the fumbled snap that Ware recovered at the 4 yard line that led directly to Dallas getting a touchdown, without which the final drive doesn't matter at all.  We'd have been ahead 19-10 if the scoring remained the same.
