With the trading of Vontae Davis, it's time to look at the three draft classes that were conducted by Bill Parcells, the supposed "franchise savior" who robbed this team blind.

2008

Jake Long-  elite player
Phillip Merling- gone
Chad Henne- gone
Kendall Langford- gone
Shawn Murphy- gone
Jalen Parmele- gone
Donald Thomas- gone
Lex Hilliard- gone
Lionel Dotson- gone

2009

Vontae Davis- gone
Pat White- gone
Sean Smith- average, nothing special
Patrick Turner- gone
Brian Hartline- average and can't even get on the field at this point, will probably walk in free agency
John Nalbone- gone
Chris Clemons- average, good speed but not a playmaker
Andrew Gardner- gone
JD Folsom- gone

2010

Jared Odrick- average, nothing special
Koa Misi- below average and only starting because they have no one better
John Jerry- see Koa Misi although he's not even worthy to be labeled as below average
AJ Edds- gone
Nolan Carroll- below average and third corner by default
Reshad Jones- average, ball magnet but gets burned easily
Austin Spitler- special teams contributor
Chris McCoy- gone

These drafts look no better than the ones handled by Saban or Wanny.  In fact, they may be even worse considering players like Matt Ryan, DeSean Jackson, Clay Matthews, LeSean McCoy, Earl Thomas, Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham were passed over.

My one objection is Kendall Langford.  He is a solid player that the Dolphins elected not to resign (he ended up getting a $24m contract from STL).  Most of the other guys were bums.  (I also think it's somewhat unfair to grade a team's draft without mentioning the undrafted rookies they picked up, like Davone Bess and Dan Carpenter.)

Interestingly enough, that means that right now, Cam Cameron's draft has Paul Soliai and Brandon Fields still on the team.  Those players are better at their positions than anyone Parcells drafted in three years (outside of the #1 overall).

I'll go ahead and lump in Ireland with Parcells since I wasn't personally there in the "war room" on draft day. Otherwise why in the flip was Ireland hired...

That was just depressing. Informative, but depressing. Especially when the man with the keys just acquired two more draft picks.
