Right decision, but a damn shame.  You hate to hear stories like this.  He was a ball hawking safety and the kind of dude you wanted on your team.  7 years, 3 Pro Bowl nods, and a Pick 6 in a Super Bowl.  Even if his career was way too short, it definitely wasn't wasted.

I agree, it is a shame.  But ultimately, you have to look out for number one.  If he continues to play, he could risk permanent paralysis.   Or worse, death.
