Please avoid spoiling things, as I haven't seen very much of it.

I heard this show was fantastic, as it won tons of awards at the Emmys.  I recommended it to my parents (my Mom, specifically, enjoys spy/covert affairs-type stuff).  They tried it and ended up watching 12 one-hour episodes in two days.

I have since started watching it.  I've seen 3 episodes.  It kinda reminds me of the show 24, but I like it better.  24 couldn't keep my interest.

The premise, for those of you that haven't seen it:

Claire Danes plays a CIA terrorism expert that a little bit nuts in the head.  Around 2001, she was in the Middle East trying to get intel and learns a rumor that "An American POW has been turned."  Then 9/11 happens and she feels like she didn't do enough to stop it.

Also happening, an American POW is found from a SEAL rescue, cleaned up after 8 years of torture, and brought home.  Clearly, he's having trouble adjusting to being paraded around like a hero, fitting back in with his family that barely knows him anymore, etc.

Danes suspects that this hero might be a secret terrorist and takes it on herself to figure out what's up with him

So far, so good -- Anyone else watching this?   It's on Showtime.

I watched the first season and liked it a lot,but didn't understand how the show was supposed go forward in season two.  No spoilers

I didn't get showtime this year, I felt Dexter jumped the shark, and I didn't enjoy last season much at all....(combined with above) I decided not to get showtime this year, because Dexter and Homeland were the main reasons for getting Showtime.Otherwise I found I never watched the channel,I got HBO this year to get Hard knocks, and was happy about lowering my Directv bill...

I had the same concern regarding Homeland and season 2. Without spoilers, let me just say they actually did a decent job. I think season two is about on part with season one.

Dexter is better this season, BTW.

I think that this is a pretty good season of Dexter, as well.

Dexter is a lot freakin' better this season, imo.  Granted, I doubt they'll ever be able to top or get back to the quality of the first 2 seasons (the 2nd season being possibly my favorite season of television of all-time, right up there with seasons 2 and 3 of Breaking Bad) or even season 4 with The Trinity Killer (John Lithgow RoXorZ my BoXerZ), but the quality truly seems to be better again this season.

You need to get back to it, B!

Oh yeah, and as to the original topic,  Cheesy -- I want to start watching Homeland as well!  My girlfriend and I have both heard good things.

It would make sense to start watching it after Dexter and all, but as busy as we've been the past few months, we've just been watching Dex on DVR and hadn't been recording Homeland as well.  Need to work on that!

I also watch Homeland. The transition into season two was fairly simple for them to make although I don't really like how they have involved Carrie (Danes) this season (avoiding spoilers for those of you not up to date).
