After opening on Thurs as part of the 3rd summer movie weekend, Godzilla did approx. $9.3 million. Spiderman 2 did $8.7 with Cap setting the record at $10.2. With those numbers in mind the movie (with a cost $160m) wasn't expected to make much more than $70-80 even with good reviews. I'm happy to point out that it made $93m. Beating Spiderman 2's $91.6 (that's what you get Sony). Worldwide it's already made $196.2m. They are already placing a sequel into motion. On a side note, Legendary Pictures is now partners with Universal. This movie was made by Legendary and WB. The WB says they are in for a sequel regardless, but with the new partnership that may be as far as it goes. And since WB has rights to King Kong, we may not get to see them fight in an updated movie.


Spoilers / Rumors to the plot for Avengers -

A - Ultron will go through 3 stages as the film progresses. Always trying to improve himself. They will travel to Wakanda looking for vibranium.

B - With the fall of SHIELD, Tony Stark is going to take over protecting the world using Iron Men drones. The Avengers will have a new tower and slightly updated looks to the uniforms. IE. - Widow gets electroshock batons, Hawkeye gets long sleeve uniform, Banner gets 'stretchy pants'.

C - Vision will be in classic uniform.

D - Rumors say War Machine and Falcon may have cameos, but not crucial roles in movie.

The New Superman movie has a title.

It's called:

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I'm torn. I feel like they are confused about the movie's direction.

So it's Batman v Supes. Which implies a fight when they meet. Ok, fine, but they are also introducing other characters. I guess they don't fight. Everyone else gets along and immediately become friends so they can form the JLA in the next movie? I find it hard to believe that Batman will fight Supes, but let WW, an amazonian created by the gods (or whatever origin they give her)  and Bats immediately get along. Much less get along with anyone else in the JLA on the first meeting.

I know they feel they are behind Marvel and don't have time to create individual, thoughtful character developments. Not saying that Marvel movies are perfect, just that they took the time to create a universe and tie-ins, etc.. I mean, are they so scared of a WW movie that they aren't even trying? Could it have been the failure of GL? There is still no Flash movie. Cyborg? Manhunter?

It may be a cool movie to watch, cuz don't get me wrong, I'm totally in, i'm just curious if the cliche 'haste makes waste' will end up applying.
