So, I've heard that this is a good show and is the start of a pretty good DC Universe on TV. My wife likes it and a podcast I listen to says good things.
The character of Arrow is very much like Batman, except he kills guys. The show is on CW and has some stinker characters. There is the love triangle subplot that is contrived, the characters aren't believable or likable, and it's generally uninteresting. There are flashbacks to Arrow's stuff as a castaway on an island, which is interesting, as well as his day-to-day revenge-taking. It's monster-of-the-week, for sure, but not terrible.
However, the lover triangle stuff is almost unbearable and I nearly gave up. My wife told me to hang in there and, sure enough, the season ended strong and there were some major shake-ups that make me interested to continue the series.
So, overall -- not a great start, but good groundwork for what's to come. It's on Netflix, for anyone who is interested.
I'll keep you posted on season 2 as to whether I think it reaches the quality everyone says it does.
