Buffalo coach Rex Ryan considers himself a tough coach.

But he believes he’s finally found his match in Miami’s Dan Campbell.

“Most times when I go across the field I can whip most head coaches,” Ryan said Wednesday. “But I ain’t whipping that one. I ain’t even trying to whip that one. He’s a big dude, man. I’m 52 years old, I’d like to see 53. So I think I’ll avoid that one.”

Ryan said he wanted to hire Campbell when he was with the Jets but that the Dolphins wouldn’t let him go.

Campbell said he has “a ton of respect” for Ryan.
