I'm sticking with Dark Knight and Scott Pilgrim, though I'm far from confident they will advance.

Watchmen was certainly an achievement, but I saw it once in the theater and I've never felt any desire to watch it again.  Haven't seen Dredd, but the source material is not my cup of tea, and it would be an extremely steep hill for it to pass the two movies I voted for.

This is a very hard bracket.

I love Dredd, but I have to exclude it.  It's great for what it is, because it's so limited of a scope and a small budget.  But these are the big leages, so it has to go.

The Dark Knight is a definite, so that goes in easily.

Between Scott Pilgrim and Watchmen, two movies I really, really like, I had to choose Scott Pilgrim.  I'm nit-picking here, but Watchmen lost a lot of its subtext in a direct translation.  Also, after the Watchmen TV show, it really shined a light on how the squid subplot could've been done. ...makes me wish they just went for it instead of changing the ending.

Ladies and gentlemen, our first overtime tiebreaker!

First off, Watchmen advances and Dredd is eliminated.  The final group score was:
Watchmen- 5
Dark Knight- 4
Scott Pilgrim- 4
Dredd- 1

I have reset the poll to Dark Knight and Scott Pilgrim only.  Cast your vote.  In overtime, you cannot change your vote after casting it, and you cannot see the total until you vote, so choose wisely!

You have until 11:59 PM EDT on 4/14 to vote as you see fit.  If they are tied again at that time, the tiebreaker system is as follows:

1) Greater total average percentage of group votes (edit: slightly clarified, but it does not affect this particular matchup)
2) Greater total number of votes
3) Earlier release date (because we here at TDMMC appreciate the classics)

I voted for Scott Pilgrim in overtime.  This is the second straight round that the #1 overall seed has struggled to advance, when it should be flying through the bracket.  Dark Knight is on borrowed time with TDMMC voters; best to end this now.

The Dark Knight, come on guys.  Scott Pilgram is a nice movie, I really like it too, but Heath Ledger got an Oscar for his role in The Dark Knight.  It's for sure the superior movie.

The Dark Knight should win this whole thing.  Going out in round two would be a farce.

I'm one of the biggest defenders of Watchmen, but having it win this grouping is lunacy.

Dave, not sure if you've looked at the bracket, but outside of the MCU (which is a giant chalk mine), this contest has already been a slaughterhouse for favorites.  One #2 seed has already finished last in its group in the second round (!), another will tonight, and the most popular movies in this contest (outside of the MCU) are a #6, 9, 11, and 15 seed.

Tied again!  And since these two movies were in the same group in the previous round, and they also had the same number of votes there, they are exactly tied on the first two tiebreakers, which means it goes to the final tiebreaker: movie that was released first.

The #1 overall movie in this contest just survived... solely because it was released earlier than an 8 seed.  The Dark Knight (along with Watchmen) advances to the the next round.
