2003 Dolphins vs 2020 Dolphins

Both teams share a common bond.  They managed to get ten wins and miss the playoffs.  That 2003 team was loaded with talent but trending downward.   This team is trending upward and has the draft capital to bring in a boatload more of young talent.

Yeah, obviously today sucks with losing but this isn't our 3rd straight season of 8-8 or 10-6 and we can't get over the hump. We were almost historically bad last year, basically trading away anyone who even touched a football before. Now, we win 10 games and have tons of draft ammo.

If in 2023 we are still at 10-6, then it sucks. Right now? In a great spot for the future.

A few other differences   First, the 23 team was oaded with taent and ost severa very cose games that they easiy coud have won.  Second, the 23 team was eiminated from the payoffs before the fina wee of the season.  This year's team had four chances to get into the payoffs on the fina wee of the season.  Third, I was feeing optimistic after 23 as the team had ony missed the payoffs two straight years after five consecutive appearances.  Boy, was I wrong.
