Seems as though Tua was more productive and Flores talked to him about progressions and reads

On another note, comment about Waddle:
First-round rookie receiver Jaylen Waddle, who has been recovering from a broken ankle since last October, made it through minicamp with no limitations. But there were times Waddle walked with a noticeable limp during practices open to media this offseason.

Despite the limp, Waddle closed out Wednesday’s practice with an electric 50-yard, catch and run touchdown from Tagovailoa during a hurry-up, 2-minute offense setting. He was clearly the fastest player on the field ― by far.

Flores was quick to dismiss whether Waddle, the team’s No. 6 pick in the 2021 NFL draft, is dealing with some lingering effects from his injury suffered on Oct. 24, 2020


That limp bugs me, I'm not gonna lie, but as my son says "Dad, it hasn't even been a year!"  I've read that when Kenyan Drake broke his lower leg/ankle against Ole Miss, it was very similar.

Not sure if he had a limp for a short time as well, but I do know he has the wheels and I believe Waddle is even quicker than Drake.

I mentioned this last week during rookie camp. People around have said that Waddle limps when he walks but it doesn't seem to affect his speed. I'm wondering if it's more a mental crutch than actual pain ... I mean he's been doing it so long it probably feels almost normal to him. If so he should grow back out of doing that.

I agree. 

I agree too.  It is very common when coming off a significant injury to favor (or be very unsure of) the area that was injured for a while.  I caught myself doing that after a knee surgery once.  Did the same thing when I started lifting again after shoulder and bicep surgery 3 years ago.  It is almost 100% psychological and goes away quickly once you feel confident that the area has completely healed.  You can medically be 100% and still limp until your body starts doing the things it needs to do without your brain getting in the way of instincts for a while.  The fact that he is still a speed demon when running is all we need to know.  He'll be fine.
