$43 Million guaranteed and it could go up to $87.5 Million with incentives.

Early numbers this free agency period were supposed to be in the $24 Million range so coming in almost $10 Million a year lower is a major victory for us. When on the field, no doubt he is a monster and greatly improves our line. This is very good for us no matter how you slice it and 100% necessary to even have a chance at the playoffs.

^^^ Well I hope this makes you, and everyone else clamoring over the O-line, happy.  I hope he plays injury free and earns all the incentives built into the contract.  I like contracts with incentives, for the most part, I think it gives players a little extra drive so that don't go soft right after signing their contract.

I'm very happy with the signing and think it's a smart move to have an incentive laden contract - if he performs as we hope, no one will complain about the $$$.

I'm happy that we did this necessary signing. I don't treat it as a luxury or something that gets us over the top, I view it as barely keeping pace with the rest of the AFC. I hope we sign Tretter, then we are moving up and can start to compete with the rest. Still not a contender, but definitely moving up substantially.

IF/WHEN he is healthy, he is a solid player.  But he has never played a full season and on average only plays slightly more than half a season.

Loved his enthusiasm in his press conference and the fact he wore a Dan Marino jersey to his signing.

New Miami Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead said during his introductory conference that he’d put Hill’s name first and shared what the goals of this offense are.

“Most dynamic player in the league,” Armstead said. “I’ve always been a fan of his game, just watching. Now, having him be a part of this offense, I think we’re building something, something special. Him paired with [Jaylen] Waddle, [Raheem] Mostert. You know, the speed and the speed of us up front on the offensive line. We’re gonna try to turn these Sundays into a track meet, but a physical track meet. Let’s not overshadow that all. Up front, we’re gonna implement that physicality, that mentality.”

General manager Chris Grier and head coach Mike McDaniel are hoping that the arrival of these two stars can help transform this offense from one that struggled to find consistency in 2021 to one that strikes fear into opponents in 2022.

Armstead sounds like a Team Captain already. He can only help the growth of Liam and Austin. I'm still shocked he signed for what he did, maybe he took less to come here.

He was a team captain in New Orleans.

That's a big part of what was missing on last year's line in my opinion -- a "high bar" player whose performance serves as an exemplar for the other linemen to strive toward, while also being an inspirational influence.  Without that the line has no leader and no "rudder" and it can swirl around at some inadequate level of play, with no one's providing an example of what to strive toward.  That's a big absence in a five-man group of players, the largest one on the field.  Armstead corrects that immediately, to the degree that I believe we'll see improvements in everyone else's performance just by virtue of his presence and his influence on them.

Of all the offseason signings, I really like this one the most. Hopefully he can stay healthy and give Tua a little more time to throw the football...
