That is funny.

I had a friend who went to the dog house because he got his wife a vacuum cleaner for their anniversary.  Funny thing is she got him a leaf blower.

Please explain the difference between a leaf blower and a vacuum cleaner. (I know functionally, I mean romantically.)

He really felt like he got the shaft on this one.   And I agree with him. He knew he was getting a leaf blower and he knew that she wanted this particular vacuum cleaner she checked it out every time they went to the store.  Also he gave her flowers and the vacuum cleaner.  He just got the leaf blower.

A man was walking along a beach and stumbled across an old lamp. He picked it up, rubbed it and out popped a genie.

The genie said "You released me from the lamp, blah blah blah. This is the fourth time this month and I'm getting a little sick of these wishes so you can forget about three. You only get one wish!"

The man sat and thought about it for a while and said, "I've always wanted to go to Hawaii but I'm scared to fly and I get very seasick.

"Could you build me a bridge to Hawaii so I can drive over there to visit?"

The genie laughed and said, "That's impossible! Think of the logistics of that! How would the supports ever reach the bottom of the Pacific? Think of how much concrete! How much steel! You're going to have to think of another wish."

The man agreed, and tried to think of a really good wish. Finally, he said, "I've been married and divorced four times. My wives always said that I don't care and that I'm insensitive. So, I wish that I could understand women. I want to know how they feel inside and what they're thinking when they give me the silent treatment. I want to figure out why they're crying, know what they really want when they say 'nothing', and know how to make them truly happy."

The genie paused for a while and said, "How many lanes do you want on that bridge?"

I'm pissed that we're supposed to buy jewelry for Christmas but for us it's a fancy Gillete Fusion razor (proceeds of which go to Bob Kraft).  Check the jewelry/other commercial ratio while you're watching the game this Sunday.  Kay's, Zales, and the Jared commercials are relentless.  They're trying to switch it up this year with Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and the sign language commercial but the general idea is still there--buy jewelry or you're an asshole.  OK, so it's not that bad but that's a ton of reminder on a Sunday afternoon.

The doghouse piece was the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

Modified to add: Wedding rings don't count.  He got one, too.

Never?  That's sad.  I bought a set of earrings for the ex that she probably still wears today which is cool.  The stuff that stays in the jewelry box, not so cool.

^ He doesn't take hints either.  I am going to have to hit him over the head and scream it in his ear.  He might get the hint then.  Grin

Yea, men are pretty much oblivious which is what the doghouse clip is about.  The clip is even nicely packaged as a comedy so we don't notice it's a jewelry ad for JC Penney.  I started getting that sneaking suspicion a few minutes into it.

I don't do jewelry so I don't want it as a gift
