Al Lewis was a great character actor, no matter how typecast he was. On a tweaked little side note, Lewis also played a smaller role in a George C. Scott movie from the early 70's, and that movie's title spawned the name for one of my favorite alternative bands 20 years later. The name of that movie...

I love TMBG, but your timeline seems to be a little off. I bought my first TMBG CD in the mid 80's, so if the movie came out in the early 70's, it was only about 15 years later. And now, thanks to a  CD (and DVD) they put out with Disney (called Here Come The ABC's, Josh loves them too.

Sorry Philly...they didn't get any airtime on Armed Forces network when I was stationed in germany in the 80's. I didn't hear about TMBG until the early 90's; roughly 20 years after the original movie.
