Premise: Imperial Penguins trek 70 miles back to their birthplace each year to find a mate.  The couples cooperate and make great sacrifices in effort to bring one more penguin into the world.

Rating: Great

If you like documentaries, this is a good one.  It's pretty amazing and the animals are so friggin' cute it's ridiculous.  It's rated G and has a short run time, so it's a great movie to watch with kids.  Nature blows my mind.  These penguins practically stave to death, then freeze to death (and some do) on several legs of this long journey...not to mention predators.  Their social behavior is pretty astounding -- the male and female work together to raise their young.  It is impossile to do it alone.  One leaves for food, and the other stays with the egg...then they switch.  And as a group, they all have to huddle together for warmth, or else they die.  It's amazing that they're still alive.

I thought this movie was fantastic.  I could watch things like this, or Animal Planet, all day.
