They did have a steroid policy.  They just never TESTED for steroids.  The policy has always been a blanket one covering all illegal drugs.  Steroids are illegal.

Right.

This is baseball's problem....not Bonds'.  They knew that steroids were a problem, but they ignored it because it was helping their ratings and popularity.  Baseball had nobody to blame but themselves.  It's not like Barry is one of the few...he's one of the many.  It just so happens that he's the best player to come out of the steroid era.  Is baseball supposed to just pretend that the last 15 years didn't happen?

By the way, a drug policy that you don't test for isn't a policy.  Were the players just supposed to be on the honors system?  C'mon.

So, I'm pulling for Barry to pass Hank Aaron, too.  ...just to stick it to every jerk that blames him for the way that baseball is, when it's the other way around.

Maine, can you pull up baseball's drug policy again?

I want to add two things.

#1 Can we quit saying he broke a record? The record is Hank Aaron's. He became 2 on the list, that is not breaking a record.

#2 The guy who caught the ball was waiting for a beer. How lucky is that?
