Adam Kennedy to Toronto for Shea Hillenbrand.  Jays could use the defensive help and Kennedy is certainly that (plus his bat isn't that bad).  Trade could include Jeff Weaver coming to Toronto.

Discuss.

As well as Shea is hitting the ball so far this season, it would have to improve Los Angelheim's offense.  But...didn't the Angels and Jays just make a trade for Edgardo Alfonzo recently? Is he not working out at 2B for Toronto?

Alfonzo was released by the angels. Blue jays picked him up, now hes back in Free Agency after the jays called up russ adams and activated John McDonald off the DL.

Shea has been great this year, except his ability to hit into Double plays in key situations is still there. I have heard these rumors for at least a month. hope it still stays a rumor. i like Shea. Kennedy don't really know enough about him, Jeff Weaver? something tells me the guy sucks

Jeff Weaver might do well in Toronto because no one gives a shit about baseball there. Just like in Detroit and just like in LA. Of course, the ballparks helped too. Canada has loose marijuana laws as well.

Maybe he did in the past, but this year Adam Kennedy can't hit, it will be strictly a defensive move. Which, as scary as it sounds, would only make Roy Halladay better. I would do it if I were Toronto.

I'm on board with Edge here - Boston really turned the corner by obtaining a slick fielding SS named Orlando Cabera.  There is something to be said for defense and SS is a real sore spot for Toronto.

Exactly. A lot of people fail to realize that if a fielder takes away 2 hits in a game, that's essentially adding 2 hits to his box score. So, his 1 for 4 performance now becomes 3 for 4. It's even better if he takes away runs.

That's why Mike Lowell has been so valuable this year. Like everyday he takes away a double and he is batting over .300. He won't make the All-Star game because of A-Rod, but he is a huge reason why Boston is tied for first.

I know I'm a bit Late to this convo, the Angel have B.Colon coming ff the DL,and as of right now, they'd have to send Jered Weaver down to the minors...Because Jeff Weaver is too exspensive to send down....So I'm not surprised Jeff weaver's name is getting batted around...

I think It seems to be a good move for the Angels and the Jays...JMO..

What the D-Backs did with Russ Ortiz is what a lot of teams should start doing with their bad pitchers. Jered Weaver is good. Jeff Weaver is terrible, but he makes a lot. So, what's worse:

a) Paying a guy $9 Million to suck
b) Paying a guy $9 Million to sit on the bench where he can't hurt the team anymore

The money is already spent, might as well make a good baseball decision.
