Mrs. Dol-Phan in Dallas and I are buying a new house and are going through the Decoration Negotiation process.  Being a firm believer in choosing my battles wisely, I have conceded to let her decorate the majority of the rooms in the house with the understanding that I have free reign to decorate the "home office" and the garage.  So, the inside of the garage is going to be Miami Dolphin aqua and orange.  Apparently, Glidden paint has a license with the NFL to create team colors.  So I'm going to do a Miami Dolphins themed garage with Dolphin colors, some of my Dolphin memorabilia, and a couple of those big Fathead cutouts stuck to the walls.  We'll see how it turns out.

From my experience, don't overdo aqua and orange together.  Use them as accent colors, using as much white as possible.  When you butt the two colors (aqua and orange) together, it looks weird.

If the officially licensed paint is expensive, you might want to try doing it with "close-enough" paint first. Basically any place that sells paint will also mix it for you. Just bring an appropriate color sample and they will try to match it.

Just so you don't spend a bundle on something that's not going to look well...

Good input by everyone.  I'll definitely take everyone's comments into consideration.  I'll probably start small and see how it looks and kind of work my way from there.   If it comes out cool, I'll post a pic.  If not, I'll just come on the board and say, "Not one of my better ideas."   LOL    We don't close until next month so it will be a little while yet.

Yep, they are kind of pricey.  But since the wife gets to do most of the home decor, I told her we were sparing no expense on my "man room".    Grin

Sorry, but the Phins don't exactly have the greatest color scheme. Go with Dave's advice. Aqua and Orange trim  on white would look sweet.

You guys are probably right.  Aqua and orange trim on white would definitely work better that "over-doing" it with the aqua and orange.  Good advice everyone!

My game room has orange walls and a teal ceiling with white trim, and I think it looks great together. My friends and family are blown away by the fact my wife "let" me do it. I say be brave and go all out with the colors. Maybe even accent with navy blue.
