Toronto... the NFL really wants the Fins outta the country. At least all you season ticket holders aren't getting screwed out of a game this season.

Why are we playing the Bills in Toronto?  That December schedule is BRUTAL.  Three games in cold weather areas.

Dolphins will open at home against the Jets

BY JEFF DARLINGTON
Miami Herald

The Dolphins will once again be traveling out of the country during the 2008 season -- but this time they won't have to cross any oceans.

Among the few quirky aspects of this year's schedule, which was announced at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Miami will face the Bills on Dec. 7 in Toronto as part of Buffalo's plan to move some of their games across the border.

At least running back Ricky Williams, who played for the Toronto Argonauts while he served a suspension for a failed drug test, will feel at home.

The rest of the team's schedule is otherwise lacking in glamour. All but two games will be played at 1 p.m., which is probably a reflection of the Dolphins' poor showing last season. The two-late afternoon kickoffs are a result of West Coast opponents (at Arizona at 4:15 p.m. Sept. 14 at 4:15 p.m. and at Denver at 4:05 p.m. Nov. 2).

The schedule has no Monday Night Football games.

The Dolphins will open their schedule at home on Sept. 7 against the Jets at 1 p.m. on CBS. They will play at New England on Sept. 21, which will be followed by a Week 4 bye.

On Oct. 5, the Chargers will travel to South Florida. On Oct. 12, the Dolphins will travel to Houston. On Oct. 19, Baltimore will travel to South Florida. On Oct. 26, Buffalo will travel to South Florida.

On Nov. 9, the Seahawks will be on the road against the Dolphins as well. On Nov. 16, the Raiders will play in South Florida, which will be followed by one more game at home on Nov. 23 against the Patriots.

The Dolphins will play at St. Louis on Nov. 30, followed by their trip to Toronto against the Bills. They will then come home on Dec. 14 to play San Francisco. On Dec. 21, Miami plays at Kansas City.

Miami will close its schedule as it opened it, playing against the Jets, this time in New York on Dec. 28.

It's also cold in St. Louis in late November. although they play in a dome there.

Not that it will matter anyway, as the team will be about 3 and 8 going into the final stretch of 4 away (3 in cold stadiums) games in the last 5 weeks.

Beating the Jets would be a great way to open the season.

It's certaintly possible as well.

Hell, the best way to open the season would be if Ted Ginn Jr. returned the season opening KO for a TD.

Looking forward to wearing my 49ers gear to the 12/14 game. If there aren't any tailgating plans already in place for that one, we should definitely make some. Grin

Well That what a 1-15 season will do to you.   Miami will have to rebound heavy to get back in primetime.   Roll Eyes

Why don't we make that the official TDMMC Tailgate Party?  It's the mods call, so y'all get your heads together and make a decision.

I have to try to get tickets to the Denver game now or else, it's no use.

I've never had a problem with Miami playing consecutive road games against quality opponents. That's how you measure your football team.

I want to see Miami win big games on the road. That's something that they barely did during the Marino era.

Ironically, the last BIG game they won on the road was here in Denver which also signaled the demise of their season with Gadsden, Chambers and Jay Fiedler getting hurt.

Not necessarily.  If the Dolphins have a good season, they could be on primetime in the latter half of this season (flex scheduling).
