So now that Long is in the fold, what do you think will transpire with pick #32?

I've been reading a lot of blogs/articles saying that the team really is high on Flacco or Henne and looking to nab one of them in round 2.

Personally, I think they need to go CB with pick #32.

i think we'll take the QB with our 2nd 2nd rounder.

with the 1st 2nd round pick, i'd think tuna will want LB/DB help.

I hope Miami goes after a speed pass rusher/ D-Lineman like Q. Groves from Auburn, Marcus Harrison from Arkansas or C. Campbell from Miami if he is still undrafted.  MLB Dan Connor out of Penn State is someone to consider at 32.  Another MLB I watched alot in college was Curtis Lofton out of Oklahoma, who we might be able to get with the later 2nd round pick we got for Chambers.  He was a big time playmaker for the Sooners and would look good in aqua and orange.
Tight end would also be a good way to go.  John Carlson from Notre Dame and Dustin Keller of Purdue would both be good picks in round 2.  I can understand Parcells/Ireland/Sparano picking Henne or Flacco in the 2nd round if they think Beck will not be a quality Qb in the NFL.  It ought to be a very interesting draft weekend.

I'd love to see Groves, or Aquib Talib.

I disagree.  Yeremiah Bell will be coming back to man the secondary.  Plus, as 2006 showed us, it is still possible to have a great defense with a weak secondary.

I think that a pass-rushing LB should be taken at that pick.  If none is available, go for the quarterback

I think this draft will affect us for years to come.  This year is the one that will define what our team will be like for years.  Hopefully we make a smart move with our second pick just like our first.

I would like to see someone to aid in the run defense or pass rush.  Like someone mentioned earlier, we should see Bell back and at least have a little bit of help back there.  Our LB's are decent enough for what our team is so I think a D-lineman would be best.  Our pick in the second is high enough to still pick up a top tier lineman (hopefully)....

If not much is left at D-lineman, then I would go with a QB.  We have a second pick in the second round so the payoff of a QB developing nicely far outweighs the loss of one of 2 picks in this round.

they're going to try and trade back up in the first round anyways, maybe by trading JT for a 2nd rounder.  that would net us 3 2nd rounders (and one of those is 'technically' a 1st rounder)

Y.Bell is also 30,and coming off another injury....So the secondary, could use another guy, especially with some upside, but I don't see us using a pick this high on secondary...Aquib Talib, will be gone, and his recent admission of failed drug tests in college....IMO rules him out....Crocker signed a one year (28 yo),Bell is on a one year deal (30 yo),Renaldo Hill Coming off injury (30 Yo), Cameron Worrell  coming off injury (29 yo),Kieth Davis Special teamer (30 yo) Our Youth Courtney Bryant (24 yo)  Jason Allen (25 yo)

CBs Will Allen 30,Travis Daniels 26,Andre Goodman 30,Micheal Lehan 29,Harris Tuff 25,Jerome Perry 27,Joey Thomas 28,Nathan Jones 26...

Looking at those lists, alot of guy's coming off of injury,or had nagging injuries all year last year...Or option three...Who?

I pray we don't trade back into the first round...

I wouldn't be shocked if we go QB,DL,pass rusher..but I'm going to crawl out on Sunstrokes thin Limb, and say O-lineman...(modfied to add...) I still see a hole at guard on our roster, and we're lacking depth on our O-line.

I'd like to see us take Dan Connor MLB....Channing Crowder is in the last year of his contract, and needs to show me something this year....Charlie Anderson, and Reggie Torbor we picked up in free agency...

I hope they take the absolutely best talent that's still available at ANY of our remaining need positions. I think with all of the late first round DBs in this class, there's a very good chance that a couple of those guys will slide into the second round. Brandon Flowers, Talib are good possibilities. I think there will be some good edge rushers there at the start of rd 2 as well. Groves would be nice, or maybe Lawrence Jackson out of USC. If Miami went after Joe Flacco at that spot, I wouldn't be upset either.

I'm with Rick on targeting Curtis Lofton with the late 2nd rounder...that'd be a nice talent to get at that slot for sure. If Miami wanted to add a second blue chip O-lineman, OG Chilo Rachal could still be on the board at that spot.

I wouldn't be shocked if we go QB,DL,pass rusher..but I'm going to crawl out on Sunstrokes thin Limb, and say O-lineman...

This was when I was pretty sure we were going DE with the #1. With Jake as the pick, I don't see two more O-linemen in rd 2. One, maybe, but bet they wait until the later second rounder rather than expend their top two picks on O-line.

with 2 2nd rounds picks (possibly more if a taylor deal gets done) i would love miami to take james hardy...w.r. from Indiana....he's a shade under 6'6'' and runs a 4.5 40 and i think would make an incredible addition to the corps w/ ginn and wilford mixing up the packages.....and take either henne or flacco at the 57 pick

No way either one of them last that long. In fact, there are rumors Miami may trade back into round one to grab either one of them!

Man, I pimped James Hardy pretty heavy on our radio show, and would love to see Miami find a way to get him... Unfortunately, I really don't think Hardy will slide out of round one. Henne and Flacco are expected to go real early in round 2 as well (some say teams are gonna trade back into the backside of round one for Flacco), so not sure either will be around at #58.

I don't think we take a quarterback with our two second round and third round picks.  From my understanding, and from what I've heard and read, is that Miami really, really, really wants DE/LB Quentin Groves.  Also at the top of the second round, Virginia Tech's Brandon Flowers could still be available.  One of the prequisites for a Bill Parcells CB is that you have to tackle and be effective in supporting the run.  Brandon Flowers is exceptional at both.  Plus, a lot of good WR's could fall through the first round cracks.  Oh, and there's the possibility of TE Dustin Keller being around at that time as well.  Unless, you're comfortable with David Martin.  Which I'm not.

Kevin O'Connell, Ryan O'Hara, Josh Johnson, and Eric Ainge can be had in the later rounds.  To me, the later round quarterbacks give you more bang for your buck.

If this draft defines the foundation of our team for years to come, then lets start by laying the foundations.  Draft an OG, to build with Long, and then go after a deep threat WR.

It takes WRs at least a season to get into the grrove, he may as well do it while we run the ball a lot behind our killer OL.  We also keep the defense off the field more.

If McCown is the starter, I'm not keen on having two development QB's backing him up.

I think Miami will have to jump ahead of SF at #29 to get Groves, because Nolan and the 49ers seem to be pretty tunnel-visioned in on him right now. As a duly appointed representative of the 49ers, I am authorized to offer Miami the #29 pick for #32 and their 4th rounder. Grin
